Day 14: When there is uphill, come downhill

Day 14: When there is uphill, come downhill
Titiwangsa to Gerik
Distance: 76km
Time on board: 4 hours 40
Cumulative distance : 825km
Camped at the sheltered area at Titiwangsa last night. It was a chilly night. Slept fairly well on my Hennessy hammock until the night gets too chilly.
Woke up to sunrise. KC and Dave set off first before the dawn while I and Thierry waited for sunrise. A Malay family shared their breakfast with us.
After yesterday 1000m climb, naturally come the long descent. Just as in life, when there is tough uphill, there is always downhill awaiting. But downhill is scary for me. Every 5 secs, I had to footbrake to reduce speed and roads are very inconsistent. Some section are smooth as silk and some are rough as wrinkles. Any sudden deceleration will result in falling.
Descent to Belum national forest. Had lunch at the lake. Climb again to 600 m before descending all the way to Gerik. The downhill was pretty terrifying.
