Florida to Ciego de Avila (Hitch a 80km truck ride)
8am to 11am: Skate to Florida
Nice weather to skate after a day rest. Skated past police checkpoint at the end of Camaguey and got stopped by police. They were nicest cops i ever met in the world so far. Chatted with them and had a photo taking session with them. How many times you ever get to take photo with police?
Just past the police checkpoint, met 4 amigos on the road who cycled their way to release birds. They escorted me along the way and shared their bread with me.
At Florida, took a truck-bus to Ciego De Avila as the Ciego De Avila is 80km from Florida and I wanted to try hitching a local bus as I always saw those bus past me while skating. Paid 15 pesos ($0.60) for a 80km ride,squeezing with all the passengers on board. No place to sit.
Reached at Ciego and got my Casa. Had dinner inside an interesting resturant, (Restaurante El Avion) which was an old plane.
I would say Ciego is not a city, is more like a small town.
