Cuba The Longboard Diary 12 Dec

12 Dec 2014
Sancti Spiritus to Trinidad
Distance: 70km
7.15am to 2.07pm
I read on the Crazy guy on bike Journal that the road to trinidad is the best. Well, the scenery is excellent, Skating along the mountains, a change from my usual flat route, but that means there are more hills to climb. Though distance is short but time to reach trinidad is the same as my 90km skate. Trinidad better be worth the effort. Trindad is originally not in my plan. But i changed after hearing from friends and locals that i got to go there. It is a UNCESO Heritage Site, where whole town is medieval and covered in cobblestone.
Paddled and push up the curvy hill, My skate to Sancti look like nothing, to what i experience from the hills of trinidad. Even downhill skating seems slow, with crosswind. Even had to push my way down the slope.

Rest day
Skate 12km to Playa Ancon, a white sand beach near trinidad. Met up with a couple from Poland, Christoper and his girlfriend along the way. Shared a spot at the beach.
At the night, happen to bump into them at Casa Musical and introduced me to their Casa owner Enedis and Raul, who are alsogay couplke. Enedis is a drag queen whose mother is a special needs teacher. We then drank and partied at a Beatle tribute bar with Live singer.
Wow that is life. One door leads to another door opened. Witness how alternative scene in cuba thrived even under the communist rule. Visited Enedis and raul's casa the next day.
